For those who have a business IT support contract from your THIS Support Company you would expect IT Support for your Or windows six computers to be included. Computer Support Savannah

But that might not exactly be quite the case

The problem is that Microsoft company Windows XP is now rather old -not quite prehistoric in computer conditions, but at least Jacobean!

Microsoft goes through a phased withdrawal of the products to give users a very reasonable amount of time to update. Three are 3 main phases:

Mainstream support – full support including insect fixes, security fixes and design improvements. Microsoft does to provide mainstream support a product for a minimum of 5 years after release.

Extended support – after 5 years or a couple of years after the replacement product comes out it goes into Prolonged Support with only pest fixes and security improvements.

Custom support – after 5 years on Expanded Support (or 2 years following your second successor product is released). During this phase Microsoft only helps the product on a chargeable basis. In other words for all sensible purposes it’s unsupported for small to medium measured businesses.
Microsoft no much longer provides what it telephone calls “Mainstream Support” for Or perhaps windows 7 and have not done so for practically 3 years. Microsoft House windows XP has become on Expanded Support until early 2014.

It’s not reasonable to expect your business THIS support company to compliment a piece of software that the writer themselves no much longer supports. 60 that usually your Business IT Support Company hasn’t made you aware of this THAT Support problem.

What may this mean for Or perhaps windows 7 IT Support?

Microsoft Or windows several went out of Popular Support on April 2009. Should you be running Windows 7 you should be aware that Microsoft only provides security updates now – no design updates, no bug fixes.

If you do have a problem Microsoft aren’t going to fix it for you unless you are incredibly important or you pay them a lot of money. Neither of these relates to many SMB’s, if any at all.

In brief your Business IT Support Company will struggle to help you with most Windows XP problems, because it’s out with their control to do so. However because XP has been around for quite some time almost all of the problems have been ironed out.

What does your IT Support Company say?

Most IT companies will have a clause smothered deep in their long term contract that absolves them of any responsibility for products that are no much longer supported or fully reinforced by the software creator.

At face-value that looks to be properly sensible. After all, if Microsoft company isn’t willing to provide support how can your Business IT Support Business help you?
